In a significant stride towards energy self-sufficiency, Pakistan’s Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), a prominent state-owned exploration and production entity, has uncovered a wealth of natural resources in the heart of Sindh. This groundbreaking revelation comes in the form of gas and condensate discovered at Dars West Well 02, situated in the Tando Allahyar District.

Discovery Unveiled

The news was officially disclosed by OGDCL in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday, marking a historic moment for the nation’s energy sector. According to the company’s statement, the Joint Venture of Dars West Development and Production Lease, with OGDCL as the operator (77.5%) and GHPL (22.5% carried), has successfully unearthed gas and condensate from the exploratory efforts into the “C” sands of the Lower Goru Formation over Development Well Dars West 02.

Technical Details

Dars West Well 02, a testament to OGDCL’s in-house expertise, was meticulously drilled down to a depth of 2081 meters. The results are nothing short of impressive – the well has tested 8.51 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 360 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate through choke size 32/64″ at Well Head Flowing Pressure 1947 Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) from Lower Guru C-Sand (Exploratory Zone).
