RDA to Establish Technical Committee to Examine NOC Standards for Housing Schemes

A technical committee will be established by the Rawalpindi Development Authority to examine the NOC standards of housing societies that have received District Council and Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation approval.

According to a press release Rawalpindi Development Authority agreed to create a technical committee on Friday to determine whether or not the housing projects sanctioned by the District Council and Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) met the requirements established by the Punjab government.

RDA Chairman Meeting

The 60th meeting of the RDA Governing Body, which was presided over by Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, Chairman of the RDA, made the decision that following Punjab government’s instructions, set up a technical committee to perform a survey of all the housing societies to see if they meet the requirements outlined by the Punjab government. For these housing designs, the technical committee will also create terms of reference (TOR) so that RDA can issue certificates of approval.

Pointers of the Meeting

The conference was informed about the annual development plans and WASA, by Director General, Saif Anwar Jappa. In accordance with the process outlined in the Punjab Development Authority Land Use Rules 2021, the governing body also accepted the preliminary research for the classification, reclassification, and redevelopment plan for the RDA approved housing scheme, Mohanpura.

The meeting ordered a consultant to perform a fast study and present the consultant’s recommendations to the governing body within one month. It will aid in regulating illegal property conversion following a legal procedure.

The RDA’s governing board also granted its request to carry out the presidential secretariat’s mandate to follow the National Highway Authority’s right of way procedures.

Strict Actions Against Illegal Housing Schemes

In addition to providing guidance on how to provide relief to the general people and instructing officers to take strict action against encroachments, DG RDA also directs officers to take strict action against illegal housing schemes honestly and without any fear or favor.
