Three-Day Snow Sport Festival 2023 Has Begun in Gabin Jabba

The three-day Gabin Jabba Snow and Sport Festival 2023 has begun under the supervision of the Swat District Administration and the Culture and Tourism Authority.

Gabin Jabba is completely covered in snow and a popular tourist destination, with hundreds and thousands of local and foreign visitors staying this year to enjoy the snow-covered peaks, in addition to the ongoing Snow Sport and Culture event, which is organized by the Regional Sports Officer and supported by the Swat district administration and the KP Culture and Tourism Authority.

Inauguration of Sport Festival

Mohammad Ali Shah, the Caretaker Minister for Communications and Works, inaugurated the celebrations of Snow Sport Festival.

According to the event organizers, a big number of tourists, artists, athletes, authorities, media representatives, and locals attended the inauguration ceremony.

Minister, Ali Shah addressed the opening ceremony, saying that despite the devastation caused by floods last year to the road infrastructure, a great number of people attended the Gabin Jabba festival’s inaugural ceremony, and he commended the district administration for this.

Activities for Participants

Artists, musicians, and stuntmen entranced the contestants with their performances. Well-known comedian Meerawas, a Pashto performer, also performed and was applauded by the audience.

At the event, various food booths were set up, as well as different games were organized for youngsters. The minister who inaugurated the ceremony also distributed the prizes and shields among participants.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Administration staged a day-long ‘Red Bull Home Run Skiing and Snowboarding Festival’ in Malam Jabba on Sunday. The snowboarding and skiing competitions brought more than 70 athletes and skiers from Chitral, Gilgit-Baltistan, Hunza, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Swat, and Dir.
