RDA’s Approach

The Rawalpindi Development Authority  has instructed its officials to enforce the law and take severe action against illegal housing schemes. The Director General (DG) of Rawalpindi Development Authority, Saif Anwar Jappa, has instructed officers to take action without any bias towards violators of regulations. This directive comes from the RDA spokesperson.

The DG has affirmed that the authorities will persist in carrying out actions against unlawful housing schemes. The DG has also advised the authorities to monitor the housing schemes’ activities regularly. Following the DG’s instructions, the authorities have written letters to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, Federal Investigation Agency (Cyber Crime Wing) Islamabad, and Federal Board of Revenue, requesting that they put an end to the illegal advertising of private housing schemes on social media.

According to the Rawalpindi Development Authority spokesperson, owners of such projects have been warned that launching any commercial or residential housing project without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the RDA is illegal. All advertisements, marketing, and development activities related to such projects would also be considered unlawful. The DG has advised citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes and check the status of housing projects on the RDA’s official website. The owners and sponsors of illegal housing schemes have been warned of severe consequences and directed to stop marketing their unapproved and illegal housing schemes and acquire the necessary NOC.
