World-Class Tourist Resort to be Built at Keenjhar Lake, Thatta

The Sindh government has chosen to build an international-standard tourist resort near Keenjhar Lake in an effort to provide picnickers with tourism amenities.

At a meeting of the tourist steering group presided over by Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, the decision to this effect was made.

According to Mr. Shaikh, the provincial government has plans to transform Keenjhar Lake into a popular tourism destination under the guidance of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

He claimed that plans were being made to locate the contemporary resort near Keenjhar Lake. “Establishment of the resort will open the doors to employment and business opportunities and this will become a source of foreign exchange for the country,” he added.

The energy minister claimed that both domestic and foreign visitors will have access to all contemporary amenities at the location.

He claimed that the province was home to numerous tourist attractions, and that in order to draw both domestic and international visitors, it was vital to provide modern amenities at those locations as well.

According to Mr. Shaikh, a location for the resort would be chosen quickly and approved by the cabinet as a result.

The meeting was also attended by the special assistant to the CM, Qasim Naveed Qamar, the secretaries of the irrigation and investment departments, as well as the director general of the finance department’s public-private partnership section.
